What is the FIAP?

The International Federation of the Photographic Arts (FIAP - Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique - www.fiap.net) was founded in Berne (Switzerland) in 1950, with the aim of promoting photography, in its multiple connotations, throughout the world, also through the organisation of events, Congresses, Photomeetings as well as international competitions.

There are more than 200 National Federations of Photographers' Associations affiliated to FIAP (one per nation), for Italy it is the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF - www.fiaf.net) that adheres to FIAP, through its President Roberto Puato and the Director of the Foreign Department, who takes on the role of Liaison Officer, Simone Sabatini.
