A WILD LIFE
In collaboration with LIPU
In Una Vita Selvaggia, A Wild Life, Stefano Unterthiner chronicles his adventures as a nature photographer travelling around the world. Even more importantly, he explains what being in the field for National Geographic entails.
In doing so, he retraces the most significant stages of his long and impressive career: his first steps in the world of photography, his most relevant assignments for the American magazine, and his latest major project in the Arctic.
A personal recount of twenty-five years of activity, complemented by an outstanding selection of images, narratives, and previously unseen videos documenting behind-the-scenes footage of a number of projects.
At the end of the meeting, Stefano will present his latest book Le Montagne del Lupo, The Wolf Mountains, Ylaios editor, 2025, a passionate journey seeking encounters with wolfves and a poetic portrait of the two most important and historical protected areas in Italy.
Photographer, naturalist and populariser, Stefano Unterthiner is the author of ten photography books and has been a contributor to National Geographic for twenty years. His images, published and exhibited worldwide, regularly win awards at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
