The MRSN celebrates Earth Day!
6 p.m. ~ Presentation of the book ‘The Wonderful Natural World of Guido Bertoni’.
Printed in 2024 by the Press Centre of Regione Piemonte, it is a collection of tempera and watercolour paintings by Guido Bertoni over the course of his life.
It is a collection of brilliant illustrations of the natural world (animals, plants, ecosystems, anatomy), which he generously donated to the MRSN.
The volume aims at introducing the general public to the beauty of nature, as portrayed by the talented Guido Bertoni with extreme care.
The author and his family will be attending the presentation.
6.30 p.m. ~ Safeguarding the Earth... and its rights.
The italian Forestry Officers will be talking about their role in safeguarding the environment, ecosystems and biodiversity.
They will be pointing out the most severe ecological offences, which requires highly specialised police force to prosecute them.
Consistent national and international legislation is in place and constantly updated to address such challenging issues as climate change, biodiversity loss, natural resource depletion and pollution.
They will also reveal the ecomafia 2024 report, by highlighting how, in Italy, the ecomafias do lucrative business.
Proof is the nonstopping increasing in environmental offences, which rose up to 35,487 in 2023, recording +15.6% compared to 2022, averaging 97.2 offences per day, 4 per hour.
They will also make us aware about any measures they have put in place to prevent such crimes from being committed, in order to avoid as much effect as possible the destruction of environmental matrices priceless in value.
7.30 p.m. ~ Concert for the Earth
performed by the singer Olga from Madagascar
Belonging to a wondrous people with mysterious origins, always in contact with nature, the amazing animals and plants of one of the most beautiful and enchanting countries in the world, Olga, originally from Madagascar, has always been concerned about biodiversity and the safeguarding of our planet.
The concert will feature some of her most iconic songs, deeply embedded in enthralling rhythms.
