Will renewables save the world?

As our time is being shaped by both climate change and geopolitical crisis, it has become cristal clear the energy transition should no longer be seen as a choice, but something unavoidable.

Therefore, moving away from a fossil-based model to a cleaner, sustainable and resilient system, so ensuring a fair future for the next generations, is urgently needed.

Renewable energy took centre stage on Earth Day, this year.

The event aims at raising public awareness about the key-role of renewable energy sources in moulding a new energy paradigm.

We shall investigate what renewable energies are, pinpoint their technological evolution and unveil how they have gained an increasingly significant role in the global energy scenario.

Ultimately, we will be wondering about our vision of the future: what goals can be achieved by using renewables? What challenges we are yet to face?

Jointly with specialist and ordinary people, an insightful exchange of information, debate and investigation on how to be committed to one of the most pressing issues of the present time.

Alberto Poggio. Researcher of Energy and Environmental Systems at the Energy Department of the Polytechnic of Turin.
