Cascina Le Vallere

Overview

Cascina Le Vallere is an operational unit under the Management Body.

Located in the biodiverse, 34-hectare Parco Le Vallere, the site offers access to expansive, traditionally managed hay meadows and scenic, pedestrian-and-cycle-friendly pathways.

The park is home to the Carlo Allioni Phenological Garden.

Phenology is the study of how seasonal climate changes affect the life cycles of plants and animals.

The phenological garden systematically tracks plant growth stages in relation to environmental conditions.

Observed phenomena:

  • seed germination;
  • sprouting;
  • leaf unfurling;
  • stem and branch elongation;
  • leaf yellowing;
  • flower differentiation;
  • pollen release;
  • dispersal of fruits and seeds.

No architectural barriers.
