Landscape features
Overview
Landscape features is a Visitor Center of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
It houses a permanent exhibition on Park geomorphology.
Visitors should examine how human activity and natural processes shape mountain landscapes, alongside geological history.
Key focus areas include:
- Human-Driven Changes:
- quarrying
- traditional stone architecture
- slope alterations
- water channeling
- Geological Processes:
How rock composition and weathering influence the landscape, often illustrated via 3D scale models. - Alpine Evolution.
The terrain directly shapes the behavior of the Park's most common wildlife:
- the ibex;
- the chamois;
- the marmot;
- the eagle.
The route's information boards provide different levels of detail.
Younger visitors can explore the area on a comic-strip tour guided by Stamby, a friendly ibex.
