Overview
Traditions and biodiversity in a breathtaking valley is a Visitor Center of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
The Soana Valley Visitor Centre highlights the area's biodivesity and deep-rooted heritage:
- unspoilt ecosystems;
- the standard of the local environment and its manufactured goods;
- deep-rooted history;
- traditions;
- legends;
- traditional craftsmanship.
The Centre is housed in a chalet built by the Municipality of Ronco Canavese and funded by Regione Piemonte and the Mountain Community of the Orco and Soana Valleys.
The interior layout and furnishings were made possible by funding from the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture.
Features include:
- traditional furniture;
- information panels;
- collections of insects and taxidermied animals;
- research materials dedicated to the Park’s biodiversity.
The Centre provides an area where artisans, producers and residents alike can present to visitors:
- traditional craft techniques;
- local artisan products;
valley traditions.
