EDUCATIONAL CENTRE FOR SCHOOLS – ACTIVITIES 2025-2026

The 2025-2026 Activity Booklet of the Educational Centre for Schools is now online.

The booklet, published by the MRSN’s Educational Section, compiles and presents various educational programs for schools, along with training and refresher courses for educators.

The journey of discovery continues! Let’s explore the Museum's collections, historic scientific expeditions, research and routes that have broadened our understanding of the natural world across all continents.

This year's main new features:

  • themed guided tours for children, from nursery school to the first two years of primary school;
  • a fun, artistic workshop on Fritz, the King's elephant who has become the icon of the MRSN, and on the ethology of other animals, housed in the gardens of the Palazzina di Caccia, the royal hunting lodge, of Stupinigi;
  • a tactile illustrated book that enables visitors to become acquainted with the features of three birds on display at the Historical Museum of Zoology, through the sense of touch.

Collaborations with other cultural institutions in the area are in full swing, such as Centro Scienza, the Asti Palaeontological Park, the Gran Paradiso National Park, and the Management Authority for the Protected Areas of the Royal Parks.

Two contests with prizes are dedicated to schools this year:

  • the 6th National Crystal Growing Competition, in collaboration with the Italian Crystallography Association, to be launched on September 30th;
  • the Michele Lessona© Prize for scientific dissemination, in partnership with the Municipality of Venaria Reale and other organisations.

Furthermore, in order to enhance educators' knowledge and skills, the MRSN promotes training courses on teaching chemistry, life sciences, earth sciences, researching nature trails, as well as a blended theoretical and practical in-depth course on exotic species offered by the Sustainable Development, Biodiversity and Natural Areas Sector and Piemonte Parchi.

All courses grant training credits, owing to the collaboration with ANISN, National Association of Natural Science Educators, Piedmont Section.

Download the booklet from the For Schools page and discover the full range of offers.

The MRSN wishes students, educators and school staff a lively and exploring school year dedicated to natural sciences!
